Issue & Reason
When installing Amira-Avizo, this error message may appear:
"Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX Redistributable
Command line option syntax error. Type Command /?For Help"
This issue can occur when the operating system is set to a non-Unicode language, such as Japanese. In this case, the Win32 cabinet extractor may fail to recognize Unicode characters in the username, causing the installation process to fail.
Suggested Solutions
1. Modify the user environment variables or create a new temporary folder. Change the values of the TEMP and TMP variables to use a path containing only English characters.
Example: C:\User\田中¥TEMP => C:\Program Files\TEMP
In most cases, this solution resolves the issue. If the problem persists, proceed with the next step.
2. Delete the current account and create a new one with a username in English.
