When the Vendor Daemon terminates with the following error message recorded in the Vendor Daemon log file:

"tcp_s is bad!!! Exiting"

Follow the steps below to identify and resolve the issue.

 

Suggested Solution

 
1. Ensure that lmadmin and mcslmd/asglmd do not share the same port ID. You can check the port IDs from the lmadmin web interface at:

If both use the same port, change one of them to a different value.

 
2. Check if the Vendor Daemon port is used by another application. This port can be configured in the lmadmin interface. Navigate to http://localhost:8090/vendor, then click on asglmd.

 
  • Allows lmadmin to automatically select an available port not currently in use by enabling the option Use default port. This port ID may change each time the FlexNet server restarts, requiring reconfigure the firewall to open the new port ID.

  • Enables the option Use this port to specify a static port that remains unchanged after a FlexNet server restart. In this case, ensure that the chosen port ID is not used by any other application.
