Context
With the release of Amira-Avizo Software version 2025.1, the FlexNet Publisher (FNP) technology that supports our product has been updated to version 11.19.8.
Consequently, to ensure compatibility and maintain optimal performance, it is essential to update your license management tools.
Process
Follow the instructions below based on your license type:
1. For Local (Node-Locked) License Upgrades
1.1. Download and install the latest version of Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM).
1.2. Upon successful installation, launch the Thermo Scientific License Manager application, select the licenses you want to upgrade, and click Upgrade.
1.3. Choose an Upgrade mode, enter version number 2025.1, and click Continue to complete the automatic upgrade of the selected licenses.
2. For Floating (Concurrent) License Upgrades
2.1. Update the license server
Your server must run FNP version 11.19 or higher.
- Windows: Download, install, and run the latest version of Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs) to perform an automated server upgrade.
- Linux: Follow the manual procedure documented here.
2.2. Upgrade the license
- Window only: Open Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server. Select the License Administration tab, and use the Upgrade dialog for a streamlined upgrade process.
- Alternatively: Update your license file using the LM Portal, then import it into your server.

2.3. Configure client machines
- On each client machine that hosts Amira-Avizo Software, configure the connection to the license server.
