This article presents the features affected, as well as more information regarding this change.
Description
After upgrading to 2023.1 or a later version of Amira, you will not be able to use features from this extension in any current or new projects.
The modules enabled by this extension are:

- Relabel by Track ID
- Track View
Why did Thermo Fisher remove the object tracking feature in the Cell Biology Edition?
Our technology has not evolved much since several versions because it was not a strong focus and there are already more efficient solutions on the market. Most often those cell tracking and analysis software comes with systems doing live microscopy imaging. Our added value being low and based on a legacy technology, Thermo Fisher has decided to remove it from our Amira 3D for Cellular Biology Edition to focus more on strategic topics that matter to a greater number of microscopy users such as the integration of an AI environment to create and execute trained models, a rich Python environment, advanced algorithms for automatic structure segmentation and characterization, etc.
What solution do you recommend doing Live cell tracking and analysis?
Several open-source packages can help you track live cell kinetics and analyze your in vitro cell cultures based on Python or MATLAB.
Are you going to offer new technology in the future?
We do not currently intend to invest and commercialize such cell tracking and analysis capabilities in our Amira solution, but we are carefully considering other correlative light electron microscopy workflows (CLEM) which may require the implementation of this kind of functionality in the future. Stay tuned.
