Install lmadmin as License Server Manager

Install and run Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs). Follow the dialog instructions to automatically install and configure the license server with the following steps:

1. The application checks if your machine meets lmadmin system requirements and installs any missing components if necessary.

2. lmadmin is installed or upgraded if a version prior to 11.19 is detected. During the upgrade, previously installed licenses and admin settings can be restored, and Thermo Fisher software Vendor Daemons are automatically upgraded. If the server hosts other vendors’ products, manually copy their Vendor Daemons to the new installation.

3. Set the license server admin password.

4. Activate your license(s) based on your internet connection (online or offline). For instructions, refer to the articles:

  • KA-01334 "Manage Floating Licenses: Online Activation on Server Using License Manager for Server".
  • KA-01340 "Manage Floating Licenses: Offline Activation on Server Using License Manager for Server".

5. Start the FlexNet lmadmin service.

6. In Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server, the Server Configuration displays the status of the installed components and the system information.

7. After completing the installation, access the lmadmin web interface by clicking on the FlexNet server link (http://localhost:8090/). When lmadmin opens, enter “admin” for both username and password (default credentials) if you have not set a custom admin password during the installation.
