Install lmadmin as License Server Manager
Install and run the Thermo Scientific™ License Manager for Server. Follow the on-screen instructions to automatically install and configure the license server. The process includes the following steps:
1. The application checks whether your system meets lmadmin requirements and installs any missing components if necessary.
2. If a version earlier than 11.19 is detected, lmadmin is automatically installed or upgraded. During an upgrade, previously installed licenses and administrator settings can be restored. Thermo Fisher Software Vendor Daemons are upgraded automatically. If the server hosts other vendors’ products, manually copy their Vendor Daemons to the new installation directory.
3. Set the license server administrator password.
4. Activate your license(s) according to your internet connection method (online or offline). For instructions, refer to the articles:
- KA-01334 "Manage Floating Licenses: Online Activation on Server Using License Manager for Server".
- KA-01340 "Manage Floating Licenses: Offline Activation on Server Using License Manager for Server".
5. Start the FlexNet lmadmin service.
6. In Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server, the Server Configuration displays the status of installed components and system information.
7. After installation, access the lmadmin web interface by clicking on the FlexNet server link (http://localhost:8090/). When lmadmin opens, enter “admin” for both username and password (default credentials), unless you set a custom administrator password during installation.
