[FlexNet License Server / Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal]

Context & Prerequisites

When a new version of a Thermo Scientific Software application is released, you need to upgrade the activated licenses on your FlexNet license server to allow client application users to run the new version.

Caution For Avizo, Amira, and PerGeos applications, upgrades are only available for licenses in version 2021.1 or later. If you are upgrading from a version before 2021.1, first activate the license codes you received by email when version 2021.1 was released. Then proceed with the upgrade (refer to article KA-01257 "License Server: Activate (New) Licenses - Get the License Server Host ID").

Process

After updating your license file using the procedure in article KA-01264 "Upgrade on Server - Update a License File with LM Portal"), import it to the license server using one of the following methods:

  • Use Lmadmin web interface:

Open http://localhost:8090/vendor in a web browser on the server machine to set up your license server as follows:

1. Click Import License.

2. Check the Overwrite License File on the License Server.

3. Browse to select the license.dat file generated by the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal.

4. Click Import License.
