[FlexNet License Server]

Context & Prerequisites

When a new version of a Thermo Scientific Software application is released, you must upgrade the activated licenses on your FlexNet license server to enable client application users to run the new version.

Important: For Avizo, Amira, and PerGeos, upgrades are only available for licenses in version 2021.1 or later.

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 2021.1, first activate the license codes you received by email when version 2021.1 was released. Then proceed with the upgrade (refer to article KA-01257 "License Server: Activate (New) Licenses - Get the License Server Host ID").

Process

After updating the license file (refer to article KA-01264 "License Server: Upgrade Licenses - Update a License File"), you can import it onto the license server using one of the following methods:

  • Either using the Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (Windows only):

1. In the Dashboard, click Import license files.

  • Or, in the lmadmin web interface:

1. Open http://localhost:8090/vendor in a web browser on the server machine.

2. Click Import License.

3. Check the Overwrite License File on the License Server.

4. Browse to select the license.dat file generated by the TLM portal.

5. Click Import License.

6. Click on the Vendor Daemon (asglmd/mcslmd) line.

7. Click Start if the Vendor Daemon is Down, or Reread License Files if the Vendor Daemon is already Up.
