[FlexNet License Server - Lmadmin / Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal]

Context & Prerequisites

Thermo Scientific™ software can be sold as a yearly renewable subscription. These time-limited licenses typically expire after one year, preventing the client application from running upon expiration.

If the subscription has been renewed, you must reactivate the licenses to update the expiration date.

Important: You cannot perform reactivation more than 14 days before the license expiration date.

Process

After updating your license file using the procedure in article KA-01266 "Reactivation on Server - Update a License File Using the LM Portal", import it onto the license server using either of the following methods:

  • Use the lmadmin Web Interface:

Open http://localhost:8090/vendor in a web browser on the server machine to configure your license server as follows:

1.  Click Import License.

2.  Check Overwrite License File on License Server.

3. Browse to select the license.dat file generated by the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal.

4. Click Import License.

5. Click the Vendor Daemon (asglmd/mcslmd) line.

6. If the Vendor Daemon is "Down", click Start . If the Vendor Daemon is "Up", click Reread License Files.
