[FlexNet License Server - Lmadmin / Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal]
Context & Prerequisites
Thermo Scientific software can be sold as yearly renewable subscriptions. These time-limited licenses typically expire after one year, preventing the client application from running upon expiration.
Assuming that the subscription has been renewed, you will need to reactivate the licenses to update the expiration date.
Follow the instructions provided in this article, in conjunction with those in article KA-01267 "Manage Floating Licenses: Reactivation on Server - Import a License File".
Important: You cannot perform the reactivation steps earlier than 14 days before your license(s) expiration.
Process
To update your license file on the server, you will need:
- Your FlexNet license server Host ID and one of your license Order line numbers. You can find this information in your license file. For instructions on accessing the license file, refer to article KA-01257 "Manage Floating Licenses: How to Find Your Server Host ID".
- Open your license file. The Host ID of your license server is the string that follows the keywords SERVER this_host, and your Order line number is the string that follows the keywords SN=. If multiple licenses are installed on your server, any Order line number will suffice.
- A machine connected to the internet to access the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal.
Then follow these steps:
1. Open the LM portal and select the Reactivate menu at: https://tlm-portal.com/operations/reactivate.
2. In the Reactivate (1/3) display:
- Select your machine Host ID type:
- Ethernet address: The unique identifier derived from your network adapter's MAC address. This ties licenses to a specific machine for products like Amira-Avizo, OpenInventor, and ImageDev.
- Athena platform ID: The specific platform identifier for Athena platform-hosted products.
- Enter your server Host ID and one of your license Order line numbers.
- Click Continue.
3. In the Reactivate (2/3) display:
- Check the box to select the license(s) you want to reactivate. Renewed licenses are highlighted, and the "Actual" and "Next" dates are filled in the Expiration Date column. If no licenses are available, contact Customer Support for assistance.
- Adjust the number of tokens you want to reactivate for each selected license. The number of tokens must be less than or equal to the number of tokens you have purchased.
- Click Reactivate.
4. In the Reactivate (3/3) display, a green pop-up will confirm the successful reactivation.
5. Click Download License File and save the generated license.dat file.
