Context
When a new version of the Thermo Scientific FlexNet tools is released, you must update your FlexNet license server (lmadmin).
Process
1. Install the latest version of Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs).
Note: To use Thermo Scientific software, your server must run FlexNet tools version 11.19.0 or higher. If your lmadmin server is below the minimum required version, a notification will automatically appear indicating that an upgrade is available.
To launch the upgrade, in the FlexNet lmadmin upgrade display, click Upgrade to uninstall the existing version.
2. In the FlexNet lmadmin installation display, click Start to begin installing the new version.
A green pop-up will confirm the successful upgrade.
3. In the next two displays, click Restore to recover the backed-up admin user profile and license files.
4. To apply updates, in the Start FlexNet lmadmin service display, click Restart.
5. After the restart, the latest version of lmadmin will appear as "Installed" in the Server Configuration tab.
You can initiate the Upgrade at any time by clicking the Upgrade button in the Server Configuration tab. This button appears only when your server is not running the latest available version of FlexNet.
Notes
- If you do not use Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server to manage your licenses, contact Customer Support for assistance with upgrading your server.
