[FlexNet License Server - Lmadmin / Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal]
Context
In the following article, we will describe the administration of certificate-based licenses for Thermo Scientific software products if you do not use the Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs) application.
Amira, Avizo, and PerGeos licenses issued before version 2020.3 used a different technology for activation. To manage those versions, refer to article KA-01271 "Manage Floating Licenses: Versions Prior to 2020.3 for Amira, Avizo, and Pergeos Software".
Process
To obtain your license file, you will need:
- Your activation codes: Provided in your delivery email.
An activation code is a long string enclosed between the tags BEGIN TLM CODE and END TLM CODE. - Your FlexNet license server Host ID (see article KA-01257 "Manage Floating Licenses: How to Find Your Server Host ID").
- A machine with an internet connection to access the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal.
Then follow the steps below:
1. Open the LM portal. Go to the Activate menu: https://tlm-portal.com/operations/activate
2. In the Activate (1/3) display, paste your activation codes — including the BEGIN TLM CODE and END TLM CODE tags — into the text field, then click Continue.
3. In the Activate (2/3) display:
- Select your machine's Host ID type:
- Ethernet address: The unique identifier derived from your network adapter's MAC address. This ties licenses to a specific machine for products like Amira-Avizo, OpenInventor, and ImageDev.
- Athena platform ID: The specific platform identifier for Athena platform-hosted products.
- Enter your server Host ID.
- Check the box next to each license you want to activate, and adjust the number of tokens to activate for each selected license. The number of tokens must be less than or equal to the number of tokens purchased.
- Click Activate.
4. In the Activate (3/3) display, a green pop-up will confirm the successful activation.
5. Click Download License File and save the generated license.dat file to any location on the file system of the server machine.
