Context

 

In the following article, we will describe the administration of certificate-based licenses for Thermo Scientific software products if you do not use the Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs) application.

 

Amira, Avizo, and PerGeos licenses issued before version 2020.3 used a different technology for activation. To manage those versions, refer to article KA-01271 "Manage Floating Licenses: Versions Prior to 2020.3 for Amira, Avizo, and Pergeos Software".

 

Process

 

You can import a license file onto the license server using either the lmadmin web interface or the Import license files dialog in the Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (Windows only).

  • Use the lmadmin Web Interface

Open http://localhost:8090/vendor in a web browser on the server machine to configure your license server as follows:

1. Click Import License.

2. Check Overwrite License File on the License Server.

3. Browse to select the license.dat file generated by the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal.

4. Click Import License.        

5. Click the Vendor Daemon (asglmd/mcslmd) line.

6. If the Vendor Daemon is "Down", click Start ​​​.  If the Vendor Daemon is "Up", click Reread License Files.

 

  • Use Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs) (Windows only):

1. You can access the Import license file function from either of the following locations:

  • Server Configuration tab:

2. In the Import license file display:

  • Click Add, then browse to select the license.dat file generated by the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal.
  • Click Import.
