Context & Prerequisites

 

After purchasing one or more licenses, you will receive an email from flex1647@flexnetoperations.com containing a set of activation codes for each product or option purchased. These codes are required to activate the license. Follow these steps to activate your license(s) offline on the server.

Process

 

1. Launch Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs).

2. In the License Administration tab, click Activate Licenses.

3. In the Select activation mode display, select Offline activation.

4. The Generate license file dialog outlines the required steps before importing the license file. Follow them step by step, as described below.

5. (Step 2) On the machine with internet access, open the Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LM) portal.

  • In the Operations display, select Activate.

  • (Step 3) In the Activate (1/3) display, paste your activation codes, including the — BEGIN TLM CODE — and — END TLM CODE — tags, into the text field. Click Continue.

  • (Step 3) In the Activate (2/3) display:  

    • Select your machine Host ID type:

      • Ethernet address: The unique identifier derived from your network adapter’s MAC address. This ties licenses to a specific machine for products like Amira-Avizo, OpenInventor, and ImageDev.

      • Athena platform ID: The specific platform identifier for Athena platform-hosted products.

    • Enter your server Host ID.

    • Check the box next to each license you want to activate. Adjust the number of tokens for each selected license. The number of tokens must be less than or equal to the number of available tokens.

    • Click Activate.

  • (Step 3) In the Activate (3/3) display, a green pop-up confirms the successful activation.

  • Click Download License File and save the generated license.dat file. Transfer the file to the offline machine.

6. Return to Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server to complete the activation process:

  • Click Import license file.

  • Click Add, then browse to select the license.dat file generated by the LM portal.

  • Click Import. A green pop-up confirms successful import.

7. Restart the server when prompted. A green pop-up confirms that the restart is successful.

8. In the License Administration tab, click Check Licenses Status to confirm that the activated licenses are correctly installed on the server (refer to article KA-01344, titled "Offline Checking Server Licenses Status Using License Manager for Server").
