[Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server]
Context & Prerequisites
Caution: Reactivation is only available for licenses that have been renewed.
Thermo Scientific software can be sold as yearly renewable subscriptions. These time-limited licenses typically expire after one year, preventing client applications from running upon expiration.
Assuming that the subscription has been renewed, you will need to reactivate the licenses to update the expiration date. Follow these steps.
Process
1. Launch Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs).
2. Open the License Administration tab and click Reactivate Licenses.
3. The following dialog outlines the steps required before importing the license file. Follow them step by step, as explained below.
4. (Step 2 and 3) Open Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LM) portal on a connected machine.
- In the Operations display, select Reactivate.
In the Reactivate (1/3) display:
Select your machine Host ID type:
Ethernet address: The unique identifier derived from your network adapter’s MAC address. This ties licenses to a specific machine for products like Amira-Avizo, OpenInventor, and ImageDev.
Athena platform ID: The specific platform identifier for Athena platform-hosted products.
Enter your server Host ID and the Order line number.
Click Continue.
- In the Reactivate (2/3) display:
- Check the box to select the renewed license(s) you want to reactivate. Renewed licenses are highlighted, and the "Actual" and "Next" dates are filled in the Expiration Date column. If no licenses are available, contact Customer Support for assistance.
- Adjust the number of tokens to reactivate for each selected license. The number of tokens must be less than or equal to the number of tokens you have purchased.
- Click Reactivate.
- (Step 4) In the Reactivate (3/3) display, a green pop-up will confirm the successful reactivation.
- Click Download License File and save the generated license.dat file. Transfer the file to the offline machine.
5. Return to the Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server to complete the reactivation process:
- Click Import license file.
- Click Add and browse to select the license.dat file generated by the LM Portal.
- Click Import. A green pop-up will confirm the successful import.
6. Restart the server as prompted. A green pop-up will confirm the successful restart.
7. In the License Administration tab, click Check Licenses Status to verify that the update is correctly installed on the server (refer to article KA-01344, titled "Offline Checking Server Licenses Status Using License Manager for Server").
