Context & Prerequisites
- If you no longer need a local license — such as an expired trial license — you can deactivate it using the Deactivate function.
- It is important to note that if you plan to reinstall the license later, you must instead follow the Transfer procedure (refer to article KA-01232 "Manage Local Licenses: Online Transfer"). This ensures that the license activation codes are preserved for future reuse.
- An internet connection is required for the following actions. If an internet connection is not available, refer to article KA-01234 "Manage Local Licenses: Offline Deactivation."
Process
1. Launch the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM).
2. In the Local tab:
- Click Deactivate to remove an entire suite of product licenses,
- Or, click
to deactivate a single license.
3. In the Deactivation Mode display, select Online deactivation.
4. In the Deactivate License(s) display, click Continue to confirm the deactivation.
