Prerequisites

To obtain your license file, you need the following:

  • Activation codes: These are provided in your delivery email. An activation code is a long string enclosed between the tags – BEGIN TLM CODE – and – END TLM CODE –.
  • Machine Host ID: In Thermo Scientific™ License Manager, click  Content/Resources/Images/tlm/buttons/TLM-information-button.png to display the Flexnet Host ID. If multiple host IDs are displayed, select only one.
    For additional methods, refer to article KA-01277 "Manage Local Licenses: How to Find Your Local Machine ID".
  • Internet access: A computer connected to the internet to access the Thermo Scientific License Manager (LM) portal.

Process

    1. Open the LM portal's Activate menu: https://tlm-portal.com/operations/activate

    2. In the Activate (1/3) display, paste your activation codes — including the - BEGIN TLM CODE - and - END TLM CODE - tags — into the provided text field.

    3. Click Continue to proceed.

    4. In the Activate (2/3) display:

    • Select your machine Host ID type:
       
      • Ethernet address: A unique identifier derived from your network adapter's MAC address. This option ties licenses to a specific machine for products such as Amira-Avizo, OpenInventor, and ImageDev.
      • Athena platform ID: The platform identifier used for products hosted on the Athena platform.
     
    • Enter your server Host ID.
    • Check the box next to each license you want to activate. Adjust the number of tokens to activate for each selected license. The number of tokens must be less than or equal to the total number of tokens you purchased.
    • Click Activate to continue.

    5. In the Activate (3/3) display, a green pop-up confirms successful activation.

    6. Click Download License File and save the generated license.dat file to a location on the server machine's file system.

    7. Install the license.dat file on the computer where your product is installed by following the instructions in article KA-01242 "Manage Local Licenses: Install a License File".
