Context & Description
This section provides instructions for activating licenses on a server when not using the Thermo Scientific License Manager for Server (LMs) application. The process uses the License Manager (LM) portal and FlexNet web interface (lmadmin). Follow these steps:
1. In order to activate your license, you need to bind your license file to the license server's machine identifier, known as the Host ID. For detailed instructions on obtaining this identifier, refer to article KA-01257 "Manage Floating Licenses: How to Find Your Server Host ID".
2. With your Host ID available, obtain your license file through the License Manager portal. Complete instructions are available in the article KA-01258 "Manage Floating Licenses: Activation on Server - Get a License File with LM Portal".
3. Once you have your license file, import it to your server to complete the activation process. Follow the procedure outlined in article KA-01259 "Manage Floating Licenses: Activation on Server - Import a License File to Server".
